Optically, there is *no difference* between this and the old FE8C version. That being said, this version comes with a nicer pouch, removable hood, and better focus calibration (in my experience). I'd say it's worth it.

Pros:

Focus ring correctly calibrated (at least on my copy). This was a problem with the old version of the lens as plenty of Internet forums will attest.
180 degree diagonal view at a low price.
Good projection (objects are more proportional when taken with this lens when compared with other fisheyes)
Sharp at f/5.6 and above.
Removable hood.
Nicer pouch

Cons:

Still soft at f/3.5, same as before.
Non-circular view on FF cameras.

For anything at a reasonable distance, just keep your focus ring locked down near infinity and shoot away. I recommend spot or partial metering.
