I've purchased 3 of these. They are adequate to hold a flash and umbrella, but not a machined high quality item. Does it work - yes. It clamps to the light stand OK, tilts and locks down OK, but lacks the refinement of those holders it is copying. The tiny knurled screw to hold the flash hotshoe is too small and hard to tighten/keep tightened and there are some sharp edges and corners that should have been removed. It is designed to handle speedlights without shorting the electrical connections and I mount radio control devices between this bracket and speedlights without any problem. It uses a little spring piece of metal to provide some friction on the umbrella shaft until you lock it down, but this makes it difficult to install the umbrella without quite a bit of pressure to get it started. I would say it's worth the price and gets the job done, but don't expect it to be very refined.
