This is my first studio kit so I have nothing to compare to. However, I am very satisfied with my purchase so far. I think that just the stand and one muslin is worth the price - but with this kit you get 3 huge muslin's. I wish that the black muslin was a little thicker, but haven't had any issues with light shining through it. If so, you should be able to just double it up since it is quite long. The carry case and the way it compacts down into one little bag is AWESOME! It is also very lightweight - even though I was not concerned about weight. The muslins come with a loop at one end so you do not have to use clamps at the top - only on the sides if needed. Word or warning - do NOT iron your muslins. These come packaged and folded nice and neat and will come with many creases. Put them in the dryer with some wet towels on low heat and let them tumble around a while. I did not iron mine, but I have heard you can wreck them if you do...
