This is a great unit if you need long distance viewing. You do need an external IR illuminator with this. But, Once you get it setup, WOW! It works well. Get a streamlight TL-2IR with Picatinny rail mount and it is quite the powerful combo. It is not suitable for indoor use because of the high magnification power. Try the 4X one!
